Tested Water

Terms of use

Who you're agreeing with

These terms are between you and Rudderberry, LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Tested Water. "We" and "us" in these terms mean Rudderberry, LLC. By using testedwater.com you agree to them.

What this site is

Tested Water is general information about private well water. We gather lab results and records that public agencies have already published, count them the same way for every county, and explain what they mean.

We aren't a lab, a doctor, a government agency or a water treatment company. Nothing on this site is medical, legal or engineering advice.

What the numbers can't tell you

The numbers on a county or state page describe wells that public agencies tested in that area. They can't tell you what's in your well. Two wells next door to each other can test very differently, and many of the wells in these records were tested because someone already suspected a problem.

Only a lab test of your own water can tell you what's in it. Use a lab certified by your state, and follow your state or local health department's advice about your results.

If someone is sick and you think the water is the cause, call a doctor or your local health department. For a possible poisoning, call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.

Accuracy

We check every health claim against the agency or university source named on the page, and we date each review. Public data still has errors and gaps, agencies change their limits, and old results may not match the water today. We can't promise that every number or statement on the site is complete, current or correct.

If you spot a mistake, email hello@testedwater.com. See our editorial standards for how we check and correct pages.

Tools on this site

The test results reader and the shock chlorination calculator give general estimates from the numbers you type in. They don't replace your lab's report, your state's guidance or the instructions on a product label. Check their results before you act on them, especially before adding bleach or chemicals to a well.

Some links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission when you buy something through them. How we make money explains how that works.

Labs, stores and other sites we link to have their own terms and prices. We don't sell or install anything ourselves, and we aren't responsible for another company's products, services or sites.

Reminder emails

If you sign up for a yearly test reminder, we send it to the address you give us. Every email has a link to stop them. The privacy page explains what we keep and how to have it deleted.

No warranty

The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions made using information from this site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to $100.

Changes
