If you only read this site, Google Analytics records your visit for us (details below), but we don't learn your name or email. The only personal details we keep are the ones you give us in the reminder box on a county page.

We only collect your email if you ask for a reminder

When you use the reminder box, we keep two things: your email address and the county page you signed up from.

We use them to send you a copy of that county page right away, and then one reminder a year to test your well. We don't send anything else.

Resend sends our email

Resend, an email delivery company, keeps our list of addresses and sends our emails for us. It handles your address under its own privacy policy.

We don't sell or share your email

We don't sell your email address, rent it out or give it to anyone else. The labs and stores we link to never see it.

You can stop the emails or have your address deleted

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also reply "unsubscribe" to any of our emails.

To have your address deleted completely, email hello@testedwater.com and ask. We'll remove it from our list and from Resend.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages help

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, which searches bring them here and which links they click, including links to stores. It tells us which guides are useful and which need work. We don't run ads, and we don't use Google Analytics for advertising.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends Google details about your visit, such as the pages you view, your browser and device, and a rough location based on your IP address. Google's own policy explains what it does with that data (How Google uses information from sites that use its services). You can block it with a content blocker or Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Our fonts are served from our own site, so loading a page doesn't contact Google Fonts.

Our web host, Vercel, handles every request to the site and keeps short-term technical logs, like IP addresses, to run the service and block abuse.

When you click a link to a store, that store may set its own cookies so it knows the visit came from us. That's how affiliate commissions are tracked. Its own privacy policy covers what it does next.
